The School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SIE), which was established in 2017, operates in collaboration with the University of Cambridge. It represents China's first academic institution dedicated to cultivating specialized professionals in innovation and technology transfer. As a pioneering initiative, SIE fulfills four core mandates: talent development, scientific research, think tank creation, and supporting regional socioeconomic advancement.
The school consistently highlights practical innovation transformation, continually deepening collaboration with the University of Cambridge, and implementing the "1+1+X" development strategy. Building upon comprehensive and high quality cooperation with the University of Cambridge, an open collaboration platform is being established to deepen partnerships with government, enterprises, and top domestic and international universities. Adhering to the development philosophy of "small yet refined" and "prestigious", the school aims to maintain a compact scale of both the institution and its faculty and students, while constructing an internationally influential, high-level faculty team. It aims to cultivate high caliber talents with international competitiveness, lead high-level scientific research to drive disciplinary development, serve national and regional economic development with high-quality services, and address fundamental issues in innovation transformation within human society. Emphasizing "internationalization" and "interdisciplinary integration" as developmental characteristics, the school is striving across discipline construction, scientific research, personnel training and international cooperation. It aims to gradually become a leading domestic and internationally renowned institution with distinctive advantages in science, technology, and business.
