Dr. Yue Qiao is Chair Professor of Economics and Deputy Dean of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Shandong University, where he also serves as Director of the Williamson Center for Law, Economics and Organization. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Lanzhou University and earned both his Master’s and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Surrey, UK.
Prof. Qiao holds several professional affiliations, including membership on the Competition Policy Committee of the China Industrial Economics Association, service as Executive Council Member of the Technology Incubation and Innovation Ecosystem Branch of the China Technical Economics Association, and appointment as Associate Editor of theAsian Journal of Law and Economics.
His research interests span innovation management, industrial economics, and competition policy. He has published more than 40 papers in leading academic journals and has directed over 10 provincial- and ministerial-level research projects. Beyond academia, Prof. Qiao actively contributes to the design and assessment of national industrial policies and advises multinational corporations and leading enterprises—including Apple, Meituan, China Minmetals Corporation, and PICC Beijing Branch—on economic and strategic matters. He also serves as Vice President of the Qingdao Chapter of the China Chamber of International Commerce.
