Jianping Xing, Doctor of Engineering, Distinguished Professor / Level-2 Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Shandong University, currently serves as Executive Vice Dean of the National College of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Vice Dean of the School of International Innovation and Translation, and Director of the Institute of Intelligent Integrated Microsystems at the School of Integrated Circuits. He has been selected into the National High-Level Talents Special Support Program (Ten Thousand Talents Program), and honored as National Distinguished Teacher of Higher Education, New Century Excellent Talent in University of the Ministry of Education (MOE), Taishan Industry Leading Talent, and the Most Beautiful Sci-Tech Worker of Qilu.
He has long been engaged in the R&D and industrial application of China's independent BeiDou New Spatiotemporal Internet of Things (IoT) and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite integrated communication, navigation and remote sensing technologies. Meanwhile, he focuses on the innovation of industry-education collaborative education mode, and systematically carries out the construction and implementation of innovation-driven entrepreneurship practice education system.
He has a wealth of outstanding scientific research and teaching achievements. He has presided over more than 30 national and provincial-level major scientific research and teaching projects, including the National Key R&D Program of China, National Deep Earth Exploration Special Program, National High-Technology Research and Development Program (863 Program), projects under the National Key Technology R&D Program, National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Demonstration Base Construction Project, National New Engineering Education Reform Project, National Special Program for Laboratory Construction and Practice, National Innovation and Entrepreneurship College Construction Project, National First-Class Undergraduate Program Development Project, and National First-Class Undergraduate Course Development Project. He has published more than 170 papers indexed by SCI and EI, obtained over 60 authorized invention patents, published 15 academic monographs and planning textbooks, acquired 20 computer software copyrights, and led or participated in the formulation of 6 industry standards. His relevant achievements have won 2 Second Prizes of the National Teaching Achievement Award, 13 Special Prizes and First Prizes of Provincial and Ministerial-level Science and Education Achievement Awards, as well as 10 Provincial and Ministerial-level Second Prizes.
He holds a number of important academic, industrial and educational social appointments. He is currently a Member of the Sub-Committee on Innovation Method Teaching Guidance of the Ministry of Education, Member of the National Expert Committee on Science Education for Primary and Secondary Schools, Member of the Advisory Board of the GNSS and LBS Association of China, Deputy Director of the Special Committee on Innovation Engineering of the Chinese Creation Society, and Member of the Integrated Circuit Sub-Committee of the China Institute of Communications. Meanwhile, he serves as Director of the National Organizing Committee of the iCAN International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, Secretary-General of the Shandong Division of the National Undergraduate Electronics Design Contest and Contemporary Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling, Director of the Shandong Division of the ICC Youth Innovation Competition, Mentor of the National Talented Youth Program (Physics Discipline), Director of the Collaborative Innovation Center for BeiDou New Spatiotemporal Smart Industry Development of Shandong Industrial Technology Research Institute (Shandong University), Director of the National BeiDou Science Popularization Base, Shandong Provincial BeiDou Science Popularization Expert Studio and BeiDou AIoT Digital Twin Training Base, and Chairman of the Shandong Maker Association. As the founder of the National Excellent Case of BeiDou + Education, Xingguang Academy Mooker Space of the National Top 100 Cases, and the Micro-major in BeiDou Spatiotemporal Technology and Application, he has deeply engaged in the full-chain development of innovative and entrepreneurial talent cultivation, and guided students to win more than 100 major national awards, including the Gold/Silver Awards of the China International College Students' "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the Gold/Silver Awards of the National "Challenge Cup" College Students' Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition, and the National Grand Prize of the iCAN International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
