During the meeting, Zhu Peiji introduced the social and economic conditions of Qingdao, expressing that Qingdao's marine economy, ecological economy and platform economy need to be connected with the international community; The University of Cambridge is the top international university, and SDU is the best university in Shandong province. Cooperation between the two universities is conducive to better serve Shandong and local economic development. Zhu affirmed the council formed by the University of Cambridge, Qingdao Municipal Government, and SDU. He suggested the Council to adopt a market-oriented operation model. At the same time, he said that foreign advanced technological achievements should be widely introduced with the help of the University of Cambridge to stand at the forefront of China in innovation and technology.
Zhang Yongbing thanked the Qingdao Municipal Government and Qingdao Shibei District Government for their strong support for the construction of the School of Innovation Intermediary and the innovation ecosystem. He said that the work of the School is closely related to the work of the Qingdao Science and Technology Bureau and Qingdao Education Bureau, and hoped the two sides could join hands to expand the breadth and depth of cooperation. He emphasized that in addition to discipline construction and talent cultivation, the School is also coordinating the construction of innovation ecosystems of Qingdao campus and its surroundings, hoping to get active participation and support from the government.

Liu Dachuan, deputy head of Qingdao Shibei District Government, introduced its cooperation with the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the University of Cambridge to jointly promote the construction of the innovation intermediary demonstration base.
Tony Raven, CEO of Cambridge Enterprise Center of the University of Cambridge said that SDU is the first university Cambridge Enterprise Center cooperating with in China. Qingdao has a high degree of internationalization and good ecology, and it is also an active and innovative city. Chu Daping, Chairman of the Advanced Photonics and Electronic Technology Center (CAPE) of the University of Cambridge and Honorary Dean of the SDU School of Innovation Intermediary proposed to consider organizing an annual international innovation forum in Qingdao, or organizing an innovation forum in the UK, and he also gave development suggestions on the construction and operation management of offshore incubators.
