The School of Business, The University of Connecticut Visits School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Holds Pathway Program Presentation

On March 20,2025,Professor Michel Rakotomavo, Academic Director of the Department of Financial and Enterprise Risk Management of the School of Business,the University of Connecticut, along with Chen Jiajia, Director of International Cooperation and International Student Recruitment, visited School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship,Shandong University. Han Shenghao, Dean of the School, and Qiao Yue, Vice Dean, attended the meeting.

During the symposium, Han Shenghao reviewed the progress of cooperation since the signing of the student training program agreement last year. He introduced the recent developments, discipline construction, and talent cultivation atthe School, expressing hope for further expansion and deepening of collaborative areas. Qiao Yue proposed specific suggestions and cooperation models regarding undergraduate training, faculty exchanges, joint course development, and academic exchanges. He hoped that both parties would build upon their prior collaboration, leverage resources, and utilize their respective strengths to provide more attractive programs and platforms for faculty and students.

Professor Michel Rakotomavo detailed the experiences of the School of Business in student development, academic research, and international collaboration. He emphasized the school's strong commitment to partnering with School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship,Shandong University, expressing hope that this visit would advance project implementation while exploring new areas of cooperation to jointly pioneer innovative models for cultivating globally-oriented talent.

Following the symposium, UConn's admissions officers conducted separate information sessions for students ofthe School and Qingdao Campus regarding STEM Graduate Pathway Programof SIE, SDU-School of Business,UConn.Associate Professor Lu Cuicui, Assistant Dean of School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Hu Shuang, Secretary of Personnel and International Affairs, participated in the related activities.

In 2024, Shandong University and the University of Connecticut signed a cooperative agreement to launch a 4+1 joint undergraduate-to-master's program across three STEM master's programs,Business Analytics and Project Management, Financial and Enterprise Risk Management,as well as Financial Technology,leveraging the strengths of School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship,Shandong Universityand School of Business,the University of Connecticut.
