On the evening of September 24, 2025, School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship,Shandong University successfully held an orientation session for the incoming class of International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) students at Room 308, Block B of South Huiwen Building, Qingdao Campus. This orientation aimed to help students from around the world gain a thorough understanding of the program structure, academic standards, and Chinese culture, facilitating their swift integration into campus life. Faculty members Yu Xiaoqi, Liu Yi, and Hu Shuang served as presenters, while Associate Professors Zhao Yun and Zhang Liwei attended the session and engaged in interactive discussions with students. The event featured a lively atmosphere with frequent exchanges.

Yu Xiaoqi delivered a presentation titled Educational Management, systematically outlining the academic roadmap for the next two years. She detailed the entire master's program progression, fundamental student record management protocols, course structure, and assessment requirements. Clear explanations were provided on specific student concerns such as leave procedures and graduation processes, helping students clarify their academic planning and lay a solid foundation for successful studies.
Liu Yi’s presentation covered three key modules: Building Faculty-Student Relationships,Academic Integrity and Standards, and Academic Experience Sharing. She emphasized the importance of maintaining open communication with advisors, encouraging students to actively engage in academic discussions and foster collaborative, mutually beneficial relationships. Regarding academic standards, Liu used concrete examples to thoroughly interpret fundamental integrity requirements and relevant institutional regulations, guiding students to uphold research ethics. She also shared practical insights on literature review, thesis writing, and academic publishing.
Hu Shuang delivered an engaging introductory cultural lecture titled Chinese Culture and Festival Traditions.She explored traditional Chinese festivals, social customs, and values, integrating local Shandong cultural elements to help international students appreciate the diversity and inclusivity of Chinese society. This session fostered cross-cultural understanding and communication, providing valuable cultural guidance for their future studies and life in China.

During the subsequent Q&A session, Associate Professors Zhao Yun and Zhang Liwei drew upon their extensive teaching and research experience to share graduate-level study methods and research insights. They encouraged new students to swiftly transition into their academic roles, proactively explore research interests, manage time effectively, and actively participate in the school's research projects and international academic activities to comprehensively enhance their professional competence and global competitiveness.
This comprehensive and targeted orientation session featured attentive listening and enthusiastic Q&A from attendees. New students unanimously expressed that the training provided clearer insights into academic expectations and campus life, bolstering their confidence in successfully completing their studies.
