On the morning of March 21, 2025, the opening ceremony for the fifth seminarof the Sixth China-Norway Continuous Training Program of Psychodynamic Psychotherapists for Basic Groupwas successfully held in Qingdao. The program is jointly organized by Beijing Anding Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University, the College Student Mental Health Education and Counseling Committee of Shandong Mental Health Association, and Shandong Provincial Mental Health Center, and hosted by School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship,Shandong University. Attendees included Professor Sverre Varvin, former Chair of Chinese Committee of the International Psychoanalytical Association and the project's international initiator; Professor Qiao Dongdong, Director of Shandong Provincial Mental Health Center; and Professor Qiao Yue, Vice Dean of School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Wu Shaoyi of Shandong University, the project leader for the China-Norway Basic Group. Four psychology experts from Northern Europe,Camilla Halvarson, Alexandra Billinghurst, Ulf Lindbarg, and Hanne-Sophie Johnsen Dahl,along with three domestic experts,Yang Li, Zhao Chengzhi, and Liu Hong,joined over 110 psychotherapists from 21 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across China in attending the opening ceremony.

During the ceremony, Professor Qiao Yue extended the School's congratulations on the successful launch of the fifthseminarof the China-Norway Training Program for Basic Group and extended a warm welcome to the international and domestic experts,interpreters, and trainees. He emphasized that psychotherapy is not merely a profession but a touchstone for societal progress. He expressed hope that participants would grow into mental health guardians embodying both professional expertise and humanistic warmth through the program's ongoing development.
Chinese and foreign instructors delivered speeches in turn. They expressed great pleasure at reuniting with the students, noting a growing sense of familiarity that would strengthen mutual connections and enhance learning interactions. They encouraged everyone to persevere with rigorous dedication to their studies, aiming for significant progress over the next three years.

The China-Norway Continuous Training Program of Psychodynamic Psychotherapist commenced in 2006, initiated and organized by Professor Sverre Varvin,former President of the Norwegian Psychoanalytical Society and Chair of the International Psychoanalytical Association China Committee,and Professor Yang Yunping from Beijing Anding Hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University. Currently held every three years, the China-Norway program has completed five training cycles. The sixth China-Norway Basic Group training is nearing its conclusion, and the seventh training cycle is about to commence. During the training period, participants have significantly enhanced their competence as psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapists. The China-Norway program will remain true to its founding mission, forging ahead to make greater contributions to promoting the standardized development of the psychological profession and elevating the therapeutic service standards of psychotherapists.
