On April 9,2025,Shandong University and Qingdao Hisense Hitachi Air Conditioning Systems Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as“Hisense Hitachi”) held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony at Hisense Hitachi. Xing Zhanjun, Assistant President of Shandong University and Secretary of Party Working Committee of Qingdao Campus; Han Shenghao, Dean ofSchool of Innovation and Entrepreneurship; and Zhang Wenqiang, Executive Vice President of Hisense Hitachi, attended the ceremony.
Intheaddress, Xing Zhanjun outlined Shandong University's recent institutional developments and achievements in serving Qingdao's high-quality growth. He emphasized that Qingdao Campus, serving as the university'svanguard in advancing the development of Qingdao, remains committed to precisely aligning with local socio-economic needs and advancing in tandem with the city's development. Shandong University and Hisense Hitachi have established a solid foundation for deep cooperation. He expressed anticipation that this strategic partnership will comprehensively build a new paradigm for industry-education integration, achieve precise alignment between educational offerings and industrial demands, promote organic linkage between talent chains and innovation chains, inject new vitality into intelligent manufacturing, and cultivate practical scientific and technological talents for national strategies.
Zhang Wenqiang, in his address,highlighted the positive industry-academia-research interaction between Hisense Hitachi and Shandong University in areas such as intelligent manufacturing and energy system optimization. He expressed hope that Shandong University would further leverage its strengths in gathering high-level talent and building innovation platforms to provide robust support for jointly establishing laboratories and applying for national key R&D programs, continuously transforming cutting-edge university research into industrial competitiveness.
At the event, Qiao Yue, Vice Dean of School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Wang Zhen, General Manager of Commercial Multi-split Product R&D at Hisense Hitachi Air Industry R&D Center, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of both parties. The agreement outlines long-term, in-depth collaboration in jointly conducting research on intelligent manufacturing and digital transformation, strengthening discipline development, and co-training talent.
Subsequently, Han Shenghao and Xin Dianbo, General Manager of the Basic Technology Department at Hisense Hitachi Air Industry R&D Center, jointly unveiled the plaque for Shandong University-Hisense Hitachi Joint Innovation Center.
During the event, both parties toured the Lighthouse Factory, gaining in-depth insights into Hisense Hitachi's multiple industry-first technologies in intelligent manufacturing. They also held extensive discussions on collaborative innovation between industry, academia, and research; international talent cultivation; industrial technology break throughs; and innovative models for university-enterprise cooperation.
Representatives from Software R&D Department, Design Enhancement Department, and Human Resources Department of Hisense Hitachi Air Industry R&D Center, along with officials from Service Qingdao Development Office and School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship,Shandong University, participated in the event.
