To deepen innovation collaboration between academia and industry and explore new pathways for industry-university-research integration, School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Rubber Valley Group Co., Ltd. held an Innovation Transfer Experience Exchange and Cooperation Symposium on the morning of May 30, 2025.
Qiao Yue, Vice Dean of School,Feng Hongyu,Vice President of Group, and over ten representatives from both institutions participated in the symposium. The symposium was chaired by Qiao Yue.
In the opening remarks, Qiao Yue stated that School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, established in 2017 through a tripartite collaboration, leverages think tank services, practical transformation, and international cooperation to build an integrated industry-academia-research platform. The school focuses on researching innovation transformation patterns and cultivating interdisciplinary talent, facilitating precise alignment between scientific achievements and industrial needs through initiatives such as PI team development and international innovation forums.
Ji Zhongsheng, General Manager of Qingdao Rubber Valley Entrepreneurship Incubation Co., Ltd., shared Rubber Valley's experience in building an innovation ecosystem. He noted that since its founding in 2011, Rubber Valley has developed a comprehensive service chain,encompassing foundational services, information services, entrepreneurial incubation, innovation support, public R&D, and industrial acceleration,through its platform pyramid system. It has incubated over 100 enterprises, nurturing exemplary cases like Kejie Intelligence, Yuke Software, and Zhongchi Chezhigu Interconnect Technology, thereby driving corporate growth and industrial transformation. Additionally, Rubber Valley's flagship project,the China College Students Polymer Materials Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition,has attracted participation from over 500 universities and more than 100,000 individuals, establishing itself as one of China's premier competitions. The Rubber Valley model received the China Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Promotion Award and has been replicated in sectors such as Security Valley and Textile Valley.
Centered on the theme Exchange and Cooperation on Innovation Transformation Experiences,the symposium facilitated active communication between both parties based on the principles of resource sharing and complementary strengths. Discussions centered on topics including thejoint innovation center, EDP project development and training, academic education collaboration, student practical training, and entrepreneurial incubation.
Participants included Qiao Yue;Feng Hongyu;Wang Fei, Principal Investigator Team Leader and Research Fellow; and Niu Shuiye, Assistant Dean,School Office Director, and Associate Professor, who all contributed to the exchange.
In the concluding remarks, Qiao Yue emphasized that this symposium signifies a transition from experience exchange to deep collaboration. Moving forward, the core focus should be on breaking down barriers between academia and industry.By establishing a comprehensive mechanism encompassing joint R&D,scenario validation,capital empowerment and talent mobility, the parties aim to build an innovation ecosystem characterized by resource symbiosis and value co-creation.
