Requirements for Innovative Achievements: 1. Cutting-edge: Innovative achievements must reflect the forefront of contemporary management practices, representing novel measures not previously adopted by the research subject (or case enterprise) in the field, and exhibiting a high degree of originality. 2. Valuable: Innovative achievements should enhance the research subject's (or case enterprise's) efficiency and effectiveness, yielding significant economic benefits and organizational management gains. 3. Practical: Innovative achievements should be readily implementable by the research subject (or case company) in practice, with concepts, procedures, methods, and tools designed for straightforward execution and implementation. 4. Theoretically Consistent: Innovative achievements must be grounded in reliable theoretical frameworks, comprehensively reflecting and applying the latest findings from current academic research to enhance their reliability. To meet these requirements, research topics should possess significant practical value, featuring a prominent theme, clear reasoning, rigorous logic, and scientific methodology. Concepts should be clearly defined; language should be fluent, and expression should be precise. IMBA theses must present novel insights into the researched topic, demonstrating the author's capability to engage in research work or independently undertake specialized technical tasks. Theses may be written in either Chinese or English, with the main text (excluding footnotes) ranging from 20,000 to 50,000 words or characters. The research and writing period for the thesis is approximately one year. Acceptable thesis formats include: thematic research, corporate diagnosis, case analysis, and research reports. 1. Thesis Topic Selection and Proposal IMBA students shall complete their thesis topic selection under the guidance of their mentor team. The thesis title must be jointly determined by the student and the team, demonstrating practicality, innovation, and feasibility. IMBA students must finalize their thesis topic and proposal by the third semester. The proposal shall undergo collective review by faculty members of the Department or mentor team, who will provide feedback. Only after the topic is deemed appropriate, the plan feasible, and the proposal formally approved may the student commence thesis writing. 2. Regular Progress Reviews of Thesis Work Theses must be thoroughly researched and written based on extensive collection of relevant domestic and international research materials. IMBA students are required to report thesis progress periodically within a designated scope. The mentor team and relevant personnel shall participate in these reviews to help students analyze challenges encountered during thesis development, provide timely guidance, and facilitate the smooth progression of research work. 3. Conducting a Comprehensive Review of the Thesis Three months prior to applying for the thesis defense, IMBA students must present a comprehensive report on their thesis progress and achievements to faculty members within their major and related disciplines, as well as to members of the mentor team. They should solicit extensive feedback to further revise and refine the thesis. Theses must present clear arguments, demonstrate rigorous logic, offer original insights, provide thorough substantiation, and exhibit fluent language. They should also possess practical significance. Prior to all thesis defenses, anonymous reviews must be conducted. Only candidates meeting defense requirements may proceed to the defense stage. Specific thesis requirements shall be implemented in accordance with relevant university regulations. |
